Glad About Denim – Part 1 - Clutch Guide Feature

Jeans. Love them or hate them, they are a wardrobe staple while also being a mystery. With different cuts, washes, fits, pocket placements and prices, it is tough to navigate the illusive world of denim!

Recently, we polled our social media followers to get their take (and test their knowledge!) on denim, and almost 200 women answered. With the help of Renee Wood and her staff at Gladiola Girls, we sought to answer questions and fit a few of our respondents into the perfect pair of jeans.

Special thanks goes out to Zachary Taylor Photography for all of the images!

1-2 pairs – 9%

3-5 pairs – 42%

How much are you willing to pay for that perfect pair?

up to $60 – 40%

up to $200 – 10%

So, how DO you care for denim? Premium denim can be worn 10 or more times before washing, so only wash jeans when they are dirty. Wash them inside out on cold, and hang them to dry. They can be softened in the dryer for a few minutes after they are dry.

Avoid fabric softeners and highly loaded detergents as the particles will bind to the fibers and destroy the fit and wear-ability of the denim. If any areas become “bagged out”, throw the jeans in the dryer for 5 minutes to reshape.
